Biography

UNEVEN STRUCTURE was formed in may 2008 from the willing of Benoit Friedrich (bass guitar) and Igor Omodei (guitar) to finally bring the music they had been working on for themselves alive. In early 2009, Aurélien Pereira joined the band and added his own ambient style to the work. As writing started, a third guitar player, Jérôme Colombelli, was added to the line up to allow the band to bring the dense guitar layers to live in its full form. In December 2009 they released their first EP "8" - without any drummer and with the help from singer Daniel Ädel (Vildhjarta - a 21mn long track built from leftovers of the first version of "Februus", which was in writing stage already back then.

The EP has obtained great feedback, being compared to bands such as Meshuggah and Animals as Leaders and has found a large audience - already allowing the band's name to spread over the Internet in January 2010. Later that year, multiple drummers and singers were auditioned, with vocalist Matthieu Romarin, providing mature clean vocals mixed with powerful shouts, and Christian Schreil, a Swedish drummer inspired by fusion jazz and technical metal, offering a groovy and delicate drum style, evolving as the new two band member. With the line-up being complete, the band made their first live experiences in Europe and released a first "Februus" teaser in December.

The feedback towards the first bits of this new, posty and very original approach superseded even the most adventurous expectations (15'000 hits in a few days), with great comments appreciating UNEVEN STRUCTURE direction to provide a more intimate and intense experience. Leaving the saturated modern metal land toward a musical independence, the band signs to Basick Records (distributed by Warner ADA in Europe and EMI Century Media in North America), the British label leading the avant-garde and experimental metal market, next to bands like Ion Dissonance, Aliases (ex Sikth), Monuments (ex Fell Silent) and Chimp Spanner. "Februus" was released worldwide in Q3 2011, promoted by multiple support tours, festivals in Europe and a marketing campaign carried out by Hold Tight! PR (Born of Osiris, Tesseract, Ion Dissonance, etc.).
