DOUR FESTIVAL 2009: even more guitars!

We are delighted to announce 4 more guitar acts that will join us for this year?s 21st Dour Festival that will take place 16, 17, 18 and 19 July on the Plaine de la Machine à Feu.

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN (usa [morris plains])
hardcore metal

Since their collaboration with the famous Mike Patton, The Dillinger Escape Plan has had a big influence for many bands and one of the hottest metalcore acts around, providing a complex and explosive fusion of jazz, metal and hardcore.

BOSS HOG (usa [new york])
blues rock

No, you?re not dreaming! After 8 years off the scene, the mythical duo Cristina Martinez and Jon Spencer (Blues Explosion) are making a come back on the front stage, with a whole new lot of musicians. They are best known for their live performances and Cristina sometimes singing naked on stage. A sensual female voice, with a bluesy guitar that gets all funky for those boisterous blues rhythms.

THE RASCALS (gbr [wirral])

Welcome to the world of Great British pop with The Rascals. This band is a mix of various influences bringing us a sound of a similar genre as that of the Arctic Monkeys, or the Last Shadow Puppets. Their style could be described as dark and psychedelic. We bet you?ll be seduced. Their new album will be released in June and they?ll present it to you live at Dour Festival

ROLO TOMASSI (gbr [sheffield])
progressive hardcore punk

They are young, full of talent and only want fun! Rolo Tomassi defies all the music classifications. You could say it has a bit of progressive hardcore, punk, electro, jazz, metal and big sensations are guaranteed just to please us. Shocking sounds and the trash/death cries contrast with the soft voice of the young singer. What?s certain is that their music is never boring but always expertly played! ? Hysterics? is the well chosen title of their last album, it demonstrates that music can sound new and fresh!
